Into obscurity,
Cheerlessness.

Clouds surround,
Gloom engulfs,
Suffocating swathe,
Strangling life.

Slowly descend,
Gradually dive,
Plummeting
Into chasm.

Retreating ledge,
Shrinking visage,
Unrepentant,
Bids farewell.

Fear, alarm, panic;
Resignation,
Acceptance,
Enervated submission.

Receding azure,
Ochre approaches,
Dizzying depth,
Spinning, spiralling.

Abrupt clarity, calm,
Peace, beatitude;
Drift in comforting cocoon,
Into the abyss of hopelessness.
